"I had to do what was best for me and family," Ariza said. "I am happy with my decision. I'm glad this all worked out. The Rockets are going to give me a chance to improve my game and that's all you can ask for."
Ariza's agent, David Lee, said the 24-year-old forward passed up a more lucrative contract offer from another team with salary-cap space. "We decided to go with Houston anyway," Lee said. "It was never about the money. It was about going someplace where you felt appreciated."
-OC Lakerfan, LGAriza:
I appreciate the fans and I thank them for my time here.
they told me I was uhh my worth was like the mid level and go find an offer. They would match it. The next day I heard Artest came to an agreement. I dont' know man, I don't know the situation. It is what it is. I thank the Lakers for giving me the opportunity to play. I understand its a business.
Meyers: Why Houston?
Trevor: To be closer to my family. They gave me an opportunity to do more on the court and have more opportunities.
Meyers: How do you feel how your agent dealt with the situation?
Trevor: Anything he did was going to be wrong.
I am a loyal person. If you do anything wrong to me blah blah.
Trevor: Who would want to leave LA? The business side isn't always the pleasant side, this is something you have to deal with. I'm fine with it, I'm grown. I have to do what's best for me.
Vic: Were you in the room during the negociations?
Trevor: There weren't any negotiations. That's from what I understood. That's my understanding.
Money: You are definitely going to Houston on Weds?
Trevor: Yes. I'm going to Houston.
Meyers: You still going to root for the Lakers when you aren't playing them?
Trevor: Of course, my friends are there...
Money: Did any players hit you up?
Trevor: I talked to everybody. Everyone wished me the best of luck, they are all going to be there for me regardless of the situation.
Hartman: I don't get it, the organization was so high on Trevor Ariza. I thought you were priority #1. Did you feel this way?
Trevor: I'm not going to cry about it.
Don Maclean: What have you heard about Yao?
Trevor: From my understanding, Yao will be out a year.
Meyers: Have you talked to Phil?
Trevor: No, Gary Vitti just called me to congratulate me.

Kobe Bryant is willing to wait for an extension from the Lakers as the team looks to pile more talent around him.
"Mitch has a lot on his plate," Bryant said, referring to Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak. "I'd rather him take care of those pieces first. He'll get around to me."
Bryant is under contract next season for $23 million.
Lakers ei vie mestaruutta ilman Odomia. Penkki ei vain riitä.Tipper sanoi:Näyttää hieman huolestuttavalta Odomin signaaminen. Ainoa korvaaja on Josh Powell, jolta sopiikin odottaa tehokasta off-seasonia. Ensi kaudella saattaa peliaika lisääntyä.
