Euroleague.net reports that the San Antonio Spurs’ Danny Green will be hooping in Slovenia next season, with no word about an out-clause to return to the NBA: “Union Olimpija signed swingman Danny Green over the weekend. Green arrives from San Antonio of the NBA, for whom he averaged 5.1 points in eight games last season. At Olimpija he will be reunited with former college teammate Deon Thompson. The two helped the University of North Carolina win the 2009 NCAA championship. Green was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Defensive Team and was all-conference third team that season when he averaged 13.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.”

Union Olimpija pelasi Turkissa kovan luokan turnauksen 16.-19.9. Sasun lepoaika maaotteluista jäi siis varsin vähään kun sinivalkoisista peliasuista piti hypätä lohikäärmeen housuihin. Vastassa Zagreb ja Fenerbahce Ulker sekä Paok. Yksi voitto ja Sasullekin tuli vikassa matsissa jopa 14 min peliaikaa 7 p ja pari ribaria. Union Olimpijan uutisia voi seurata parhaiten heidän Facebook-sivuiltaan jossa toki voi vähän hehkuttaa suomalaisen pelaajan tekemisiä. Kaikki tuki ja kannustus sinnepäin on viestiä, että täällä seurataan Olimpijan ja Sasun tekemisiä.
