Had a decent control over him for two games, then he took over in the 3rd, we took the first two games, Uppsala the latest one.
Do not have to be Maxwell Smart (my childhood hero, anybody there knows what I am talking about?) or Sherlock Holmes to figure out what will be the biggest challenge for us on Tuesday at Fyrishov.
We do respect all these guys, Gathings has been a huge problem for us this season, Budzinauskas (did I get the spelling right) is a great player, the size Uppsala has is amazing and those guys can also play.
I did not know coach Smith before this season, but have to admit he knows what he is doing, they do some really nasty stuff (that is a compliment) both offensively and defensively.
So there will be a lot of mountains to climb, obstacles to overcome, challenges… but the fact remains really simple: Control TJ and you have a chance to win against Uppsala.
Offensively we have to do a better job in spacing, making them try to catch us instead of us playing the game the way their defense wants us to play. Acting, not reacting is the thing. We do have a lot of quality players, we just have to play as a team to make all the guys excel at the same time.
This has been a great PR series for Swedish Basketball so far, the pain of losing is still eating me up from inside, but still the basketball fan in me enjoys this series a lot.
We will have two practices and two videosessions before the next game and definitely will do our best to get ready to play.
Once again it will (hopefully) be a lot of people and a great atmosphere to play basketball. For us to win we have to get the extra energy needed off that atmosphere and execute our gameplan/philosophy to perfection. And then there is that TJ dude….
